BinanceUS, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, just appointed one of Uber’s former key players, Brian Shroder, as president and board member. This follows Changpeng Zhao’s frequent indications that the largest crypto exchange’s US branch could become the latest publicly traded company in the digital asset market.
As president, Shroder will be responsible for the exchange’s corporate development, fundraising, strategy, product functions, and more, according to BusinessWire.
He most recently served as the Head of Business Development at ANT Group, the owners of China’s largest digital payment network, Alipay, where he was responsible for increasing the company’s global connections.
Prior to that, he had a similar position as Uber’s Head of Strategy and Business Development in Asia, where he successfully created third-party relationships and generated billions of dollars from investors.
Shroder, who is now working for Binance, feels that the company has all it needs to become the largest exchange in the United States:
Binance’s recent appointment of Shroder is just one step in the exchange’s efforts to establish ties and seek investment to support long-term growth. Other ideas include following Coinbase’s path and launching an initial public offering (IPO) within the next three years.
